I see a lot of Truth commercials on tv...when I actually /watch/ tv. I own a Truth shirt and I like it.
I don't not smoke because it's bad for me. Sure, living eight more years and not suffering from emphesyma when I'm seventy is great, but I have /my/ reason.
Okay folks, this is going to be difficult. THINK! Weed is illegal, crack is illegal, LSD, estacsy, yadda, yadda, etc, etc. Why are they illegal? *cutesy mad-mom-in-minivan voice* "Because they're bad for yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu..." Uh-huh. Cigarettes are bad for you too. But they aren't illegal... Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
I asked my mom about this. She simply said that it was the person's choice as to whether or not they wanted to smoke themselves to death. I said, "Then why don't they legalize marijuana?" She didn't know. Of course not.
They don't legalize marijuana because it would prove them wrong. They did it once with prohibition, and they're sick of thinking about how maybe they AREN'T God...maybe they make mistakes! *gasps* Oh, no!
So why aren't cigarettes illegal? Not because it would be too hard on smokers...they could make it illegal for say, anyone born after 1990 to EVER buy cigarettes. That would seriously crack down on it.
But, nope, they won't do it. Why? 'Cause they're MAKING TOO FUCKING MUCH MONEY! Think about it...they get lots and lots of tax money off of cigarettes. THEN, the big cigarette companies slide them a few every year to keep them from illegalizing it.
*MMM voice again* Yay! The government is a corrupt money-hogging bastard that cares more about it's dead presidents than it does about it's citizens! */voice* So what else is new?

I'm not a hippie, dammit. I don't smoke anything, legal, illegal, or otherwise. I don't drink to get drunk. I like staying sober. But I don't like war. Why not? I'm not a flag waver or a flag burner. I hate the US but, well, it's the hell I know.
Remind me again, who goes to war? The beauracrats or the mundanes? The mundanes, duh. The beauracrats aren't going to get off their posh chubby little asses and go fight wars...they're too "valuable."
